Hello, I am the lady in this YouTube, observed protesting Rice from the audience. That day there was a total team of us collectively: Globe Cannot Wait, Stanford States No To War, Code Pink. I am with Entire world Cannot Wait. The war criminals want a protected return to legitimacy, only public protest and rejection disrupts that. All of us had been demanding to communicate the real truth about Rice as a war criminal (and the torture plan was only one facet of her crimes). It is heartening to go through so several responses of help, and if you would like to talk more, please create me at sf@worldcantwait.org or check out out www.worldcantwait.org I also want to remark back about some of the responses: Initial: Rice need to be protested because of her war crimes and crimes towards humanity –NOT for being a woman, or African-American. To writers of remarks employing ugly, racist and/or woman hating names from Rice — and also to every person else looking at them: I inquire you to feel: Isn’t hatred from Black folks and women specifically the sort of “contemplating” that in fact supports, and feeds, the existing energy program — which generates the wars for empire, and imperialist war criminals, that we oppose? 2nd: Planet Can’t Wait’s mission is to develop and strengthen mass political resistance and opposition by men and women dwelling in the US to the crimes of our own authorities. In politically confronting war criminals, Globe Can not Wait believes in, and acts on, the electrical power of performing this by means of speech, only. Speech — yelled aloud in the streets …

Azusa Pacific University alumnus revisits Haiti one year after devastating earthquake

Article by University Love Connection

AZUSA – When he’s starting to lose focus in the blur of ordinary life, Dan Woolley reaches for his reset button. The lengthy scar on his leg is a reminder of the day the world collapsed. He touches the healed wound, and clarity rushes back.

It’s been one year since the 7.0-magnitude earthquake ripped through Haiti, sending the walls of the luxurious Hotel Montana crashing down around him and plunging Woolley, and many others, into darkness. In the capital of Port-au-Prince and around the developing Caribbean country, 230,000 lives were lost and millions were left devastated by the massive temblor on Jan.12, 2010.

This week, Woolley, a former Azusa Pacific University employee and graduate, is marking the solemn occasion with a return trip to Haiti, where last year he spent 65 hours trapped beneath the rubble of the hotel.

“Everyone talks of closure, and I don’t know if closure sounds too final for me,” Woolley said, in anticipation of the trip. “It’s at least an appropriate next step in our journey of understanding and dealing with this experience.”

The Colorado resident is resuming the work he started in Haiti last year, capturing video footage for the Christian organization Compassion International. Woolley also plans to retrace the path he took on the day his outreach mission was suddenly disrupted.

The memories of that ordeal are still fresh for Woolley, who spent the past year examining his experience and recording

them in his recently published memoir “Unshaken: Rising from the Ruins of Haiti’s Hotel Montana” (Zondervan, 240 pages, .99).”If you want to forget a difficult event, don’t write a book about it,” Woolley said. “But if you want to remember it and understand it, there’s probably no better way.”

It was Woolley’s second day working in Haiti, and he had just returned to the four-star Hotel Montana, a popular tourist destination known for its sweeping views of the mountainside, the coast and the city.
