Im David From the exeter guitar show i was with my band and Marshall just thaught i would drop by and say how awesome you are your playing is so clean and accurate you never miss a note good job buddy !!!!!!!
EMGs have the highest output among “usual” pickups (such as EMG, Seymour Duncan, Dimarzio etc etc) and NO they aren’t really made for clean but for distortion sound.
On the other hand I use a ESP SV Standard (two active EMG 81 pickups) through a Laney LV300 (tube amp) and the clean sounds just kickass.
But for clean players forget EMGs and get yourself a Fender or a Gibson guitar
