I agree with everything you said, It’s a great ability to play well and keep the energy controlled and I would enjoy listening to that any day over someone who thrashes the s**t out of their kit!
It is good to have the energy when you play live though, so a bit more movement can add that extra bite!

drummer can do just as much if not more and stay under control keep tempo and use less energy therefore improving tempo throughout the concert. Louis knows what he’s doing I’ve preformed and watched drummers for years and its easy to say he knows what he’s doing. Keep it up man!
I have been playing drums for about 8 years now and i must disagree very strongly with the other comments on this page as i recieved lessons for quite some time and learned that all the waving arms and giant motions on stage mean nothing I can get the same level of sound as well as speed both much more in control as any arm flapping drummer on stage and use much less energy. I see this all the time…idiots that dont know what the fuck they are talking about. they either dont have any videos of themselves drumming or if they do they SUCK!!! Louis….rock on bro you’re awesome!!!
Accuracy and execution are only half of playing live. I agree with the others – your playing style is very stiff and boring. I would hate to see you up on stage playing if you were like this – even if you could play well. You need to put more life into your playing, it will also make your playing sound better and improve your groove. Even if you are at home playing by yourself, you should play like you were up on stage.
