The women have less time to react to the pitch then major league men do in many cases. More over, the scores are a lot of times really low in these games that i’ve been watching. Do you think the mound should be moved back in womens college softball?

While I don’t spend a lot of time watching women’s softball, I have noticed that the mound is too close for the speed of the pitches that some of them can generate. Maybe moving the mound back 3-5 feet would make a game more competitive for the hitters without turning it into slo-pitch (with the high-arcing slow pitches that you see in that game.)
Yeah I think thhey should they did move it 3 more feet back but its at 49 feet now,most pitchers throw in the 65′s
they have about 1 and a half sec. to react to it.
But they can handle it if I can I hope to play for U of A and be there catcher when I get to college in 3 years !!

college should not be moved back because the women do react fast enough, its the equivalent as a major league baseball player reacting to a 106 mph pitch
i don’t really know what i think, if the mound is moved back it could possible do a lot for the sport. as of right now if you watch a game you are watching a pitching duel, what ever pitcher gets tired first usually loses. if you are not a softball fan this can be kinda boring. If the mound is moved back it will cause more hits, and be more like baseball. there will be more plays. this really could help draw people to the sport, but yet do we really want to turn softball into something like baseball. Softball is great the way it is. i mean there are so many well known pitchers like, cat osterman, jennie finch, monica abott. would they really be as good if the rubber was moved back.
idk, i think that either way it would work. i definatly think that there needs to be more attention focused on softball because it is a really great sport.
